Demonstrating a Professional Body of Knowledge
A teacher applies a current and comprehensive repertoire of effective planning, instruction, and assessment practices to meet the learning needs of every student. Achievement of this competency is demonstrated by indicators such as (a) planning and designing learning activities that: • address the learning outcomes outlined in programs of study; • reflect short, medium and long-range planning.
Through the preparation and teaching of my lesson plan, I was able to demonstrate effective planning, instruction, and assessment practices to meet the learning needs of all the students in my class. The students responded very well to my lesson on Woodshop Safety and especially enjoyed the portion on Scroll Saws. Their attentiveness throughout my lesson and their attention to detail while working on their projects, exemplified my abilities to create a fun and engaging lesson plan.
Through the creation of this digital lesson plan, I was able to develop many technical skills that will become an integral part of my career as an educator. The use of video, audio, and interactive learning within this type of lesson, will prove to be an exciting and engaging way for my future students to learn and ultimately demonstrate their knowledge of a specific topic.
